ACE is a leading activity provider in Scotland and have exceptional safety standards with an impressive safety record. We aim to provide a fantastic Fun experience to all our guests. ACE Adventure offers the highest standard with all of our activities. We use fully experienced, trained and qualified guides and provide appropriate instruction. We make every effort to minimise risk and provide a safe, comfortable and enjoyable experience. However, it must clear that there is an element of risk associated with any outdoor activity. When joining us for an adventure, every participant must acknowledge that we have made you aware of this and agree to these terms and conditions.

Activity Booking Terms and Conditions

  1. ACE Adventure reserves the right to change the venue or the activity or to postpone or cancel any trip if we feel water levels or weather conditions on the day of the trip could cause safety issues
  2. ACE Adventure accept bookings either online, by email, telephone or by written letter. Payment can be made by Bank Transfer, Cleared Cheque, Cash or Card. Full payment due no less than 2 weeks in advance. Advanced group activity bookings require a 20% deposit
  3. Bookings are accepted when ACE Adventure receives notification of a time and date for a product or service by email, telephone or online booking
  4. All cancellations must be advised by the person who initially made the booking by email, telephone or letter
  5. Cancellations incur the following charges:
    • Loss of non-refundable deposit (usually 20%)
    • Charged full amount for cancellation within 14 days of the activity date
    • No loss of deposit on a reduction in participant numbers up to 14 days prior to the date of the activity. The outstanding balance is adjusted accordingly. ACE Adventure reserve the right to change this policy without notice for any reason
  6. Payment is due on the day of booking an activity unless otherwise arranged. Payment can be made by Bank Transfer, Cleared Cheque, Cash or Card. Card Payments can incur a surcharge of which you are made aware in advance
  7. All invoices and outstanding balances must be paid on the date of the trip or no later than 30 days of the date of invoice. ACE Adventure charge all outstanding accounts at 2.5% interest for every seven days after that
  8. ACE Adventure reserves the right to make alterations to brochure details or website listings, and any other company documents, before and after any booking has been received and confirmed. Most of these changes will be minor, and in most cases, we will inform you at the earliest opportunity
  9. Even though Ace Adventure carries full Public Liability Insurance, it suggested that participants obtain a personal accident insurance policy that covers them for the activity they are undertaking. It should include river rafting up to and including Grade 4 whitewater where appropriate. Individual accident policies are usually available from your insurance broker, or you can try JS Insurance.
  10. ALL participants must be made aware by the person booking the trip that Whitewater rafting, as well as all other outdoor adventurous activities, carry a degree of risk that can include and is not exclusive to death and disablement. Even though ACE Adventure will manage these risks, there is still a chance that participants may fall into cold, turbulent water that is fast flowing or exposure of heights and many other potential hazards associated with our activities. Participants will only attend on the understanding that they are aware of these risks and wish to participate of their own free will
  11. On signing or completing a ‘Participation Form’ or other Company Document, or receiving a trip confirmation, or booking you agree to honour and abide by the Booking Terms and Conditions and Activity Terms and Conditions as documented by Ace Adventure. You acknowledge that all the participants in your party are aware of these terms and conditions before the activity date
  12. ACE staff reserve the right to refuse activity participation to any persons suspected of intoxication by drugs or alcohol. ACE staff reserve the right to insist guests leave the site if they are abusive or disruptive to staff or other guests.

Activity Terms and Conditions

IN CONSIDERATION OF, and as part of the agreement for the opportunity to participate in the program, the activities, services and food arranged for me (if any) by ACE Adventure Limited, I hereby agree:

  1. I acknowledge I have read, understood and approved the following terms and conditions.
  2. I am aware that all outdoor activities involve inherent risks of illness, injury, disablement, death and/or loss or damage of property, which may be caused by negligence, forces of nature and other causes known or unknown. I recognise that such risks are present always, before, during and after the activity. I am also aware that medical facilities may not be readily available during the program.
  3. I hereby indemnify and irrevocably and forever release and waive all rights and recourse against ACE Adventure and their respective subsidiaries, licensees, successors, related and affiliated companies and their officers, directors, employees, contractors, licensees, agents, representatives and assigns, from and against any and all claims, demands, payments, proceedings, judgments, settlements, awards, expenses (including without limitation, legal fees and costs) damages, losses, costs, illness, delay or other liabilities (other than a claim for negligence in the case of death or personal injury) which I or my heirs, executors, administrators or personal representatives now have or hereafter can, shall or may have against any of the above-named entities arising in connection with the activity, or any breach of the terms of this agreement. I voluntarily accept the legal risk, thereby expressly giving up any right of action and accept the physical risk arising from all liability whether such liability arises in contract, due to negligence (other than in the case of liability due to negligence for death or personal injury), or due to breach of duty raised by statute, or in any other manner whatsoever.
  4. I understand that it is a requirement to declare all existing or reoccurring injuries, including any fitness or medical conditions prior to undertaking the activity.
  5. I understand that a safety brief will be provided by a member of staff prior to the start of the activity and I will pay attention. If a safety brief is not provided I will refuse to participate in the activity.
  6. I acknowledge this agreement shall be governed in all respects by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Scotland.
  7. I consent that images and video footage may be taken before during or after the activity and may be used for marketing purposes by ACE Adventure.
  8. I confirm that I am over the age of eighteen (18) and have the authority to complete this release and that I have read and understood this agreement prior to signing it.
  9. I confirm that I will not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol on arrival and during the activity/s booked

Voucher Terms and Conditions

  1. ACE Gift Vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase as indicated on the voucher. We are reasonable about this and will extend them by 6 months on request by calling or emailing the office quoting the voucher reference number. Any difference may be requested from a price increase outside 12 months from the date of purchase
  2. Gift Vouchers cannot be redeemed for cash
  3. Gift Vouchers can only be used once
  4. Booking the activity requires the bearer to contact the office by phone or email, quoting the voucher reference number and providing your name, address, mobile telephone number and email address
  5. Booking is subject to availability
  6. There is no refund, postponement or voucher extension for a cancelled booking unless ACE Adventure has cancelled the activity session
  7. ACE Adventure reserves the right to change the activity booked to another activity subject to environmental conditions and or safety. ACE will endeavour to provide an upgraded or enhanced experience in this event
  8. ACE Adventure reserves the right to accept the exchange of specific activity vouchers to different activity on request and subject to clause 2

ACE Hideaways Terms and Conditions

  1. ACE Hideaways accept bookings either online, by email, by telephone or by written letter. Payment can be made by Bank Transfer, Cleared Cheque, Cash or Card. Card Payments can incur a surcharge of which you are made aware in advance
  2. Bookings are accepted when ACE Hideaways receives an email, online reservation or phone call with the arrival date, number of guests, type of accommodation and duration of stay
  3. Full payment due no less than 2 weeks prior to arrival. Advanced group bookings require a 20% deposit
  4. ACE recommends the guest taking out holiday cancellation insurance – no one wants to pay for a holiday that they cannot take
  5. In the event of a cancellation, the hirer (person who initially made the booking with ACE Hideaways) must advise us immediately in writing. Cancellation confirmed on the date ACE Hideaways receives written notification by letter or email or telephone
  6. Cancellations are subject to the following terms and incur the following charges:
    • Loss of non-refundable deposit 14 days before the arrival date

    • All invoices and outstanding balances must be paid by the date and time of arrival. ACE Hideaways charge all outstanding accounts at 2.5% interest for every seven days after that

The provision of any activities available to visitors to ACE Hideaways or referenced by our literature or linked to our website is provided by an independent company (generally ACE Adventures) wholly separate from ACE Hideaways. In no event shall ACE Hideaways be liable for any damages whatsoever including; special, incidental, indirect or consequential damages of any kind without limitation or any complaint or action resulting from any defect in the service or tort (including negligence) whether or not advised of the possibility of damage, and on any theory of liability, arising out of or in connection with the provision of any activities referenced by our literature, or linked to our website. Activities booked with ACE Adventures have terms and conditions and policies. Please ensure that you are familiar with these if booking activities
  10. Special Offers: From time to time, we offer late availability, one-off or special seasonal offers. Any special offer discounts offered are for the holiday and dates in question at the time of booking and cannot be carried forward to another holiday. Only one type of special offer permitted at any one time – special offers cannot be combined. We reserve the right to change or remove special offers at any time
  11. On completing the online booking process or signing and completing the offline Booking Form, or other Company Document, or receiving a booking confirmation, you agree to honour and abide by the Booking Terms and Conditions as documented by ACE Hideaways. You acknowledge that all the guests in your party are aware of these terms and conditions before the arrival date
  12. Arrival time is 15.00 to 19.00. Departure time is 08.00 to 11.00. These times always apply unless by prior arrangement in writing with management. Please ensure belongings have vacated the hut, tent or pitch by 11.00. A late check-in fee of £10 applies to arrivals after 19.00. Latest arrival strictly 22.30. If being late for your arrival is likely, please telephone ahead. For activities scheduled on the departure day, belongings can be locked in your vehicle or ask reception staff to secure them at reception. Pitches, tents and huts not been fully vacated by 12 noon, we reserve the right to charge for an additional night’s stay. Strict noise curfew of 11 pm so as to be respectful of other guests on-site.
  13. Guests’ Terms and Conditions: At least one member of the party (at least the person making the booking) must be over 18 years of age at the time of booking confirmation. The contract for a short-term holiday rental will be between the ACE Hideaways owners (referred to as “us” or “we”) and the person making the booking and all members of the holiday party (referred to as “you” or “your”) in the booking conditions outlined on this page. UK law will govern the contract. The contract of hire is not effective until we have received the deposit. The contract will be subject to these booking conditions, and must be complied with;​
    • If for any reason we have to cancel your booking in advance due to circumstances beyond our control. For example, fire, flood, exceptional weather conditions, epidemics, destruction/damage to the property (“force majeure“) you will receive an indefinite credit for the full amount of the booking
    • If we have to terminate your holiday early for the above reasons, you will be refunded or credited part of the booking fee based on the time remaining of the booking
    • No additional compensation, expenses or costs will be payable
    • No more than the maximum number of persons stated in the brochure and the website may occupy the property/hut/tent or pitch unless with express written permission from us. We reserve the right to refuse admittance if this condition is not observed
    • Any persons other than members of your party may not use the facilities at ACE Hideaways, except those run separately by ACE Adventures
    • ACE Hideaways, its employees and its representatives shall not be liable to you or your party for loss or damage to property howsoever arising. You must take all necessary steps to protect and safeguard your personal property
    • You are responsible for the property (hut, tent or pitch) during your stay and are expected to take all reasonable care of its landscape, furniture, fittings and effects, in or on the property. You must leave them in the same state of repair, and in the same clean and tidy condition at the end of the rental period as at the beginning
    • You must not use the properties for any dangerous, offensive, noxious, noisy, immoral activities or carry on there any act that may be a nuisance or annoyance to the owner or other neighbouring properties
    • Smoking is not allowed inside any of the shepherd huts, bell tents or buildings. You are legally bound to reimburse us for replacement, repair or extra cleaning costs on demand
    • We shall be allowed the right of entry to our tents or huts at all reasonable times for purposes of inspection or to carry out any necessary repairs or maintenance
    • Every effort has been made to ensure that you have an enjoyable stay. However, if you have any problem or cause for complaint, it is essential that you contact us immediately to give us the chance to resolve it. We value you, our guests, and we want you to return
  14. Campfire & log burner Fire Safety Rules and Information:​
    • Please do not light a fire anywhere at ACE Hideaways other than in a designated fire pit or log burner
    • No one under the age of 18 should light a fire without adult supervision
    • Shepherd’s huts & bell tents have an internal log-burning stove. Logs can be purchased from Reception. It is your responsibility to ensure that it is used according to the instructions provided
    • We ask you not to burn candles inside any hut or tent. For your own safety, an adult must be present at all times when burning candles & cooking, or when anything is lit
    • A fire extinguisher is provided in each hut or bell tent. In addition, a fire blanket is provided in each shepherd’s hut. A list of emergency numbers is provided in each bell tent and shepherd’s hut and at Reception and camp kitchen
    • Please do not smoke inside any shepherd’s hut or tent
    • If you smoke outside, please dispose of cigarette butts in the cigarette bin located on the outside wall of the main reception and not on the ground or anywhere else
    • ​The consideration of safety is paramount when lighting and tending to any fire – please be cautious and if in doubt, ask
  15. ACE Hideaways is surrounded by beautiful woodland and countryside. We ask that guests treat it with respect, both for their enjoyment and safety and for the protection of others, including the wildlife and farm animals surrounding the area. Approach any wild or farm animal with caution and be aware that you do so at your own risk
  16. Dogs at ACE: Please be aware that we strictly limit the number of dogs on the site at any one time and we also ask you not to allow your dog to disturb other guests and always to keep them on a lead while at ACE. Keeping your dog not just under close control but also on a lead is important because it is essential to keep the balance in the surrounding ecosystem. In essence, we are lucky enough to be surrounded by the kind of nature, from deer to red squirrels and birdlife, that is easily disturbed by even the most well-behaved of dogs out for an exploration. For the benefit of the natural environment and other ACE guests, we also ask that you always pick up your dog’s mess and bin it in the bin provided. Most dog owning-guests are very respectful of others and their surroundings but please remember that we reserve the right to ask owners of any pet causing a disturbance, or who do not abide by these rules, to leave ACE immediately. If you and your dog are happy to comply with the rules your dog will be very welcome at ACE, and you will find that the surrounding walks are a doggy paradise
  17. For the purposes of booking a stay at ACE Hideaways, children are considered to be under the age of 18
  18. Groups of 10 or more guests are required to make a refundable damage deposit of min £150 on booking (to be paid on arrival)
  19. ACE staff reserve the right to insist guests leave the site if they are abusive or disruptive to staff or other guests.
